Our December Holiday Party meeting had 32 members and 17 guests attend. Although we didn't have a formal meeting, we did produce some slides to recognize members and club contributions for this past year. Those have have been uploaded to our documents library. We had tons of stuff to give away this year. Everyone went home with something. Thanks to all those who contributed to the huge pile of party gifts!
We acknowledged our top points earners for the past year:
We gave Tad Hershey an AMA Service Award for all he's done for the club this past year.
We gave Garrick Pridemore an AMA Safety Award. Garrick crashed hard while riding at a local motocross track, breaking some ribs, his hand, puncturing a lung, and a few other bumps and bruises, so we figured he deserved to be a bit safer once he heals up!
All in all, we had a great party, lots of good food, plenty of laughs, and wished everyone a very happy holiday season!
The government shutdown finally ended so we were able to meet with the district Forest Service personnel to discuss our Trout Creek trail study. The meeting went very well and we'll continue to work with them to potentially add new single track trails into our North Divide riding area.
We decided to give the Pikes Peak ranger district good management status. They sent us an extensive list of projects they worked on this past year and after looking it over, we felt they are now back on target, supporting our motorized trail system as well as all the other resources they have to manage.
January is our time for club executive team elections. Our current team members have opted to stay in their positions for another year, but, if club members decide they'd like to see someone else in those positions, come to the January meeting and make your nominations. We'll hold the elections at the meeting.
