Fellow
riders,
Seems we
are losing places to ride faster than ever. Meetings with the FOREST
SERVICE and the BLM one on one or at the club level doesn’t seem to
have as much influence as it used too. Enter COHVCO, the BlueRibbon Coalition and AMA. All of these
organizations can and do help us with land use issues all the time. Even
though sometimes we don’t see or here about what they are doing, let
me assure you they are there doing everything they can do for use. These
organizations only exist financially because of individual memberships and
donations. I have talked to many riders that say, what can I do to help?
JOIN THESE ORGANIZATIONS! That will help. How much do we spend on a Sunday
ride, $30, $40, $50 or more? Gas for the bike, gas for the truck, lunch, a
new pair of gloves? We’re almost to $100 now. You can join all three
of these organizations for less than $100 for a whole year. Very cheap
considering we may not have places to ride if we don’t ALL support
the organizations that FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHT TO RIDE.
Don't
wait and tell your grandchildren you should have joined, TELL THEM TO JOIN
TOO.

About the CMTRA
For over 30 years we
have been active in trail maintenance of Colorado
motorcycle trails in the Pikes Peak and Southern
Colorado region. We actively work with Forest Service and
Bureau of Land Management to help maintain multi-use trails and keep these
trails open. Also through the State Trails Program we obtain grants that
are used toward Colorado
motorcycle trail maintenance.
Currently, we are
actively involved with mapping, signing and maintaining the Captain Jacks
Trail System and are in the planning stages with the Forest Service in
rebuilding the 717 Colorado
motorcycle trails burned by the Hayman fire this past summer.
We feel our active
involvement is critical to keeping our Colorado motorcycle trails open.
We also do plenty of
riding, so please join us!
